Sunday Service, Nov 1st

Nov 1st is All Saints Day, where we remember those who have gone before us in the faith and rejoice in the unity that exists between the Church Militant (that is, us) and the Church Triumphant (the Saints in glory).

We will offer Communion at 11:00am after our radio broadcast for those in physical attendance. Drive Through Communion will be available the next day (Monday, Nov 2nd), with a sign up link below.

As we gather, we also continue to thank God that the infection rates for COVID have greatly dropped in Wharton County. In late August, 27% of the people tested for COVID-19 were positive.  This week, infection rates in Wharton County were between 2-5%.  While we rejoice about the improving situation in Wharton, we remain careful and vigilant as infections and hospitalizations for COVID are rising in multiple parts of the State and Country.

We will continue to broadcast services over the radio for those at higher risk. If you chose to attend worship in person we ask that out of love for our neighbor we all strive to maintain the hygiene protocols.

The hygiene protocols are simply what we have heard before. Please maintain physical distance between family groups, avoid sharing objects, wash your hands before and after the service, and wear a mask while entering and exiting, and most especially during singing and responses.

As we learn more about the COVID-19 virus, we now see that aerosol transmission is a greater risk than was first thought.  The wearing of a mask while in the church greatly reduces possible spread. For a very good overview of the latest understanding, I’d encourage you to read this article HERE

Please feel free to reach out to myself or the elders with any questions, concerns, or prayer requests.

Rev. Lutjens
